At Developmental Concepts, Inc. we provide Intervention Services to children (3-21 years of age). A child/adolescent (participant) will receive Intervention supports based on their functional, medical and/or behavioral needs. Intervention Services will be provided based on an eligibility screening, assessment and clinical treatment plan created with the Interventionist and the family. The Interventionist is an active contributor to the assessment and treatment plan and the interventionist will advocate with the family during interviews and observations of the participant to create the most effective treatment plan for meeting the participant’s needs. Additionally, our Interventionists will collaborate with the participant’s physicians, educators, counselors and support services and others involved in the participant’s lives to create the best suited intervention plan for the participant. At Developmental Concepts, Inc. collaboration and communication with everyone in our participant’s lives help to make the meeting our participants’ intervention needs.
Developmental Concepts, Inc. offers one-on-one Behavioral Intervention and Interdisciplinary Training to children and adolescents (3-21 years of age). The Intervention staff, provide direct and extensive training with our Clinical Supervisors to provide the best quality care for our participants. Our staff are provided on going supervision and training to continue to provide the best evidence-based practices for our participants’. Our staff work with families and the participants to create weekly schedules that fit the needs of each participant. Our staff are trained to challenge our participants to make progress on meeting their functional, medical and behavioral needs.
Developmental Concepts, Inc. Residential Habilitation/Supported Living program enables adults of all ages with developmental disabilities to live in their own homes while receiving 24 hour supports and services. This allows individuals the opportunities to fully access their community and empowers our participants to live a full, safe, healthy and productive life. DCI’s Residential Habilitation/Supported Living program offers both 24 hour and hourly supports. Our qualified professionals and fully trained staff work hand in hand to meet each participant’s individual needs.
At Developmental Concepts, Inc. we provide Habilitative Supports to children with developmental disabilities. A child/adolescent (participant) will receive supports based on the detailed treatment plan created with the Case Manager at the Department of Health and Welfare. Our Clinical Supervisors are active contributors in the creation of the treatment plan and will advocate for the participants we serve to verify they are receiving the most effective and supportive Habilitative Supports for their needs. Additionally, our Clinical Supervisors collaborate with a participant’s physicians, educators, counselors, and other outside agencies to verify that the treatment plan is complimentary to their needs. Further, our Clinical Supervisors will advocate for our participants to verify all providers involved in their care are adequately meeting their needs. We believe collaboration is the key to meeting the needs of our participants.
Developmental Concepts, Inc. offers one-on-one Habilitative Supports to children and adolescents. The direct care staff at DCI receives extensive training with our Clinical Supervisors and receives weekly supervision to verify our participants are receiving the highest quality of care. Our staff work with our participants and their families to create detailed weekly schedules based on their wants and needs to explore community locations they would like to attend each week. Developmental Concepts, Inc. strives to support each individual to feel comfortable in various community environments. Our staff will challenge our participants to meet their goals, but will also be empathetic and understanding when a child/adolescent is having a difficult day, as we understand how transitions and changes can be challenging.
Developmental Concepts, Inc. offers one-on-one and small group Developmental Therapy (DT) for adults ages 18 and older. DCI’s Adult Developmental Therapy program is a great program for all adults including individuals who participate in Certified Family Home Services or Personal Care Services and require additional developmental supports. The DT program is a non-recreational program that offers individuals an opportunity to explore the community and engage in social interactions while working on developing applicable life skills. Participants in the DT program are given opportunities to participate in various tasks and activities that enhance their individual growth. Treatment plans are developed to cater to an individual’s needs to increase their independence and to develop specific skills in the areas of Self-Care, Receptive/Expressive Language, Self-Direction/Social Skills, Capacity for Independent Living, and Economic Self-Sufficiency.
For individuals requiring or needing center based services without as many distractions as in the community, DCI also offers those for adults. Our center also offers a full-access kitchen for individuals wanting to increase their cooking skills.
Participants enrolled in the Adult DT program are assigned a Developmental Specialist who works to communicate and collaborate with each participant’s support team to ensure that the participant is receiving appropriate supports to meet their individual needs on a daily basis. The Developmental Specialist will coordinate with the participant, the Targeted Service Coordinator, the family, and other applicable team members to create an appropriate treatment plan for developmental supports. The Development Specialist closely monitors the progress of each participant as well as offering additional supports as needed.
Our direct care staff receives extensive training with our Developmental Specialists and receives weekly supervision to verify each participant is receiving the highest quality of care. Our staff work with participants to create detailed weekly schedules based on the wants and needs of each individual to explore community locations they would like to attend each week. Developmental Concepts strives to support each participant to feel comfortable in various community environments and social interactions. Our staff will challenge participants to meet their goals, but will also be patient, empathetic, and understanding when difficulties arise each day, as we understand how transitions and changes can be challenging as individuals are learning adult responsibilities.
Developmental Concepts, Inc. provides Plan Development and Targeted Service Coordination to adults with developmental disabilities. We believe that collaboration and working as a team are key components to the success of each participant. Our Targeted Service Coordinators will collaborate with physicians, educators, counselors, and other service providers to ensure that the safety and well-being of each participant is being met with the highest quality of service. Additionally, our Targeted Service Coordinators will help facilitate the person-centered-planning process ensuring that the participant’s wants, needs and desires are being voiced and acted upon. Our Targeted Service Coordinators take priority to advocate for each participant in a professional, compassionate, and caring manner. Further, our Targeted Service Coordinators ensure that services are the most effective based on each individual’s needs. Our Targeted Service Coordinators actively monitor the participant’s services to verify that service implementations are promoting the highest level of success. Assistance with referrals, linking participants to community resources, and providing procedural safeguards are also primary responsibilities our team strives to offer each individual.
It is the goal of Developmental Concepts, Inc. to provide an ongoing internal evaluation of services and professionals to ensure the highest level of service for participants. Services provided to participants will build on individual strengths to enhance independence, produce measurable outcomes, are high quality and promote active participation in the community in accordance with individual choices, interests, needs and current standards of practice. The quality assurance program will ensure that services provided are developed with the participant and guardian. These services will actively promote participation, personal choice, preference, age appropriateness, integration, provide opportunities for community participation and inclusion, offer opportunities for participants to exercise their rights and are observable in practice.
